Protecting Teeth & Gums with Periodontal Cleanings
Most cases of periodontal disease are the result of poor oral hygiene. Failure to brush and floss will lead to plaque buildup around the gums, resulting in the inflammation associated with this all-too-common oral health problem. To prevent this from happening, routine care at home is important, and so are preventive dental cleanings at our office.
During a periodontal cleaning at Metropolitan Periodontics & Implantology Associates, PA, a member of our team will thoroughly clean away any traces of bacteria, plaque, and calculus. Then, Dr. Rynar will complete a full oral health assessment to look for signs of periodontal disease or decay. Based on the results of this assessment, we can create a treatment plan tailored exclusively to your needs.
How Often Should I Have My Teeth Cleaned?
For optimal health, we recommend that patients visit our dental office for teeth and gum cleanings every three to six months. Through frequent care, we can prevent gum disease and cavities from forming.
